For the first time in about a couple of years, Avril performed a new song live. Appearing as the musical guest on the new Tonight Show with Jay Leno, March 3, Avril live debuted her new single, 'Alice.' (Note: Avril performed the single version, and there was no time afterward for an interview.)
Just the day before 'Alice,' previously available only as a download, saw its physical release when the CD soundtrack 'Almost Alice' went on sale. And two days after the performance - today as a matter of fact - 'Alice' starts playing in movie theaters all across America and the UK, over the closing credits of the brand new movie, 'Alice in Wonderland.'
Avril appears on the Tonight Show as herself as Alice in the 'Alice' video. This time Avril is not sitting at the piano, but rather instead she is sitting on top the Yamaha-ha. She sings while her Best Damn Band plays. The Tonight Show stage is decked out like Wonderland, with trees, bushes and flowers, along with giant mushrooms and a candlelight tea-picnic. This has to be the most elaborate setting ever for an Avril live performance.
We have several different files today:
- A 1080i AVI that includes Jay coming over to shake Avril's hand after she played.
- An HD MP4 of the performance only. It does not have a picture quite as big as the AVI, but the MP4 is a bit sharper (my avatar, banners & screencaps were made from the MP4). The sound on the MP4 is louder, although at the very start there appears to be a brief, minor blemish of a dropout.
- An HD HQ FLV.
- A quality MP3.
- HQ Photos & Screencaps.
