Avril To Appear as Guest on E!'s Chelsea Lately on St. Patty's Day

The Late Night TV Page, March 9, 2010 - Avril is scheduled to appear March 17 on Chelsea Lately (Mon - Fri, 11 -
11:30PM ET, on E!).
On the Chelsea Lately webpage
of E! Online, there is as yet no confirmation, for the posted schedule
of guests only runs through the end of this week.
The show's host, Chelsea Handler, was a guest last week on The Tonight Show, the same
night as Avril.
Per Wikipedia, "Handler interviews celebrity guests for about six
minutes each show... There have been occasional in-set performances."
Thanks to AB. |
thewaymouth Administrator 03.15.2010, 07:42 | Chelsea Lately's E! webpage has confirmed Avril for this Wednesday night...
We catch up with Avril Lavigne, who sings "Alice," the title song from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Comedian Sarah Colonna, comedian/TV host Rove McManus and comedian Mo Mandel.
Thanks to AB.

thewaymouth Administrator 03.21.2010, 11:24 | Sorry to hear that, bonez. My comment above was the direct quote from E!
Yeah, it was misleading the way they said, Avril Lavigne, who sings "Alice."
I figured they were just hyping her appearance, rather than definitely saying she was going to perform. Since not too many artists do perform there. Then again it's rare that a performer of Avril's stature shows up on that show. So it certainly seemed quite possible she would play, from the way they wrote it up.
I mean, what a way to hype her. Like no one knows Avril except from singing 'Alice.' Avril has been a huge star for years, whereas after two months 'Alice' has only been on the Billboard Top 100 for two weeks, peaking no higher than No. 71. I think why E! did it that way is because of the film, 'Alice In Wonderland,' being that it is HUGE, No. 1 in the world, having had the 5th highest grossing opening weekend ever. AIW is bigger than much Avril, certainly right now.
Even though I do not like the song 'Alice,' it would have been better to see her perform. Chelsea's interview of Avril was quite lame. Although I was surprised and sort of impressed at Chelsea's cheek for asking about Deryck. She didn't shy away. And Avril couldn't really walk away the same way she did with the interviewer on the red carpet in London at the AIW premier. Still, Chelsea's jokes and questions to Avril were mostly bad. But Chelsea's jokes usually are weak anyway. And her delivery is so annoying. Laughing and smiling at her own stuff all the time. I don't get her popularity. Sad commentary on the taste's if the American's public.
Final 'I mean': did you see Chelsea's backstage comment to Avril after she performed 'Alice' on Jay? Chelsea said something to the effect of, 'You mean, you actually wrote that song?!' Like Avril had never written anything before in her life. Chelsea should have known. I thought it was insulting to Avril and showed Chelsea's overall ignorance.
